2022 Off-Season Practice Sessions
The Ohio High School Athletic Association restricts all sports to 10 days of off-season, coach-led practices. All girls who are interested in playing for the high school are strongly encouraged to attend these sessions, which are run by the head coach with the goal of preparing players for tryouts and the season. For this summer, the dates and times of these practices are as follows:
Dates: July 11, 13, 14, 18, 20, 21, 23, 25, 27, and 28
Time: 5:00-7:00 PM / 9:00-10:30 AM on July 23 only
Location: Tremont Turf Field
In order to assess their personal fitness and how they compare to potential teammates, players are strongly encouraged to participate in the Marker, a two-mile, timed run, with a target time of less than 14 minutes.
Date: July 30
Time: 8:30-10:30 AM
Location: Upper Arlington High School track
Purpose: The Marker
2022 Off-Season Weightlifting
Players will have the option to lift weights and condition during the off-season under the supervision of the UA athletic trainers.
Dates: Every Monday and Wednesday, beginning February 28
(No lifting during the district's spring break)
Time: 3:20-4:00 PM
Players are on their own to improve their strength, conditioning and mental preparation during the off-season. The head coach has a recommended off-season workout plan that players can follow on their own, in teams, or in groups. The team's strength and conditioning coach has also designed a four-week bodyweight program to supplement that plan, which he demonstrates here.
